IV. Mindfulness for innovation
Almost half of our daily actions and decisions are controlled by our habits when we are on the so-called „autopilot.“ Thus, a lot of valuable information (customer insights, new ideas) is overlooked. Mindfulness is a state of calm and open-hearted attention. Being mindful enhances three major creativity and innovation skills:
- Gather and integrate new ideas through „divergent thinking“
- Become aware of significant ideas rather than overlooking them
- Have the courage to follow new ideas and be resilient in case of setbacks
“Many of us are able to recall times in our lives when we felt more creative than we do now. Where did that inspiration go?”
Mark Williams
